Secondary Domains

Secondary Domains refer to any additional Domains created after the Primary Domain. Secondary Domains are entirely optional and file transfers can be managed from a single (Primary) Domain. However, you may want to create Secondary Domains depending on your organization's needs.

Secondary Domains can be created based on:

  • Organizational structure (e.g., splitting out marketing department from sales)
  • Geographical regions (e.g., consolidating 'Partners' via sales regions)
  • Specific responsibilities (e.g., only specific Users managing certain partners)
  • Configuration requirements (e.g., requiring multiple SSO providers )

Domains are helpful for managing access, security, compliance, and scalability in complex systems.

Managing a Secondary Domain

Secondary Domains can only be created and deleted by System Admins in the Primary Domain (see Adding a Secondary Domain and Deleting a Secondary Domain).

Once created, a Secondary Domain can be managed by a Domain Administrator. For details on settings you can configure in Domains, such as branding and LDAP Authentication, see Managing Domains.
